The Kama Sutra immediately brings to mind various sexual positions that are frequently shown in tantra books, but is that the only thing this ancient work is about, or is there more to this widely misunderstood classic?
A Complete Relationship Manual
Now The Kama Sutra was intended to bring two individuals closer than ever before, not only as a manual for better sex. The Kama Sutra's philosophy best sums up some of the contemporary lessons on how to deepen your love and connection with your spouse.
The Kama Sutra contains a wide range of teachings, just a tiny portion of which are related to sexual activity. It was initially created as a mechanism to unite two individuals from an arranged marriage, mostly to make life simpler for the rest of the family.
The Kama Sutra's Enjoyable Side
Now, I'm not going to claim that the Kama Sutra doesn't have a lot to do with sex because it does, and many of the techniques have been utilised to improve connections and love in relationships. What are some of the ideal practise postures then?
Thighs in the Embrace
Doesn't that seem a little kinky? Here, one of the lovers vigorously presses against one or both of the lover's thighs that are sandwiched between his or her own thighs. Naturally, you might have already encountered this position in the bedroom. One of the four 'encompassing' positions described in the Kama Sutra, this specific one is utilised to tighten the clasp around the woman's vagina.
Kama Sutra Positions in a Lie-down
The Kama Sutra also lists other lying-down postures, such as the wife of Indrani's position, the position with the mouth spread widely, and the yawning position.
The first position requires the female to arch her back and lower her head. The second requires the woman to raise her thighs and the third is when the woman places her thighs with her legs doubled on them upon her sides.
Of course this is just a fraction of the number of sexual positions outlined in The Kama Sutra and it would take many years to perfect them all, so you better get started!
