Vatsyayana composed the Kama Sutra, which was split into 36 chapters from seven parts. We will go through each of these parts to learn more about Vatsyayana's message in the Kama Sutra and the weight he gave to certain topics.
Introduction in Section One
The first section of the Kama Sutra was divided into five chapters that explained the manuscript's contents, the three main goals and priorities of life according to the prevalent Hindu belief system, knowledge acquisition, appropriate behaviour for well-bred townspeople, and various reflections on middlemen who aid the lover in his endeavours.
On Sexual Union in Section Two
The second section of the Kama Sutra contained ten chapters on the stimulation of desire, various embraces, caresses, and kisses, marking a partner with the fingernails or teeth, positions of copulation, explanations of sexual practises like slapping with the hand and the accompanying moaning, evidence of virile behaviour in women, superior coitus, oral sex practises, along with preludes and conclusions. This portion of the Kama Sutra, which is currently the one for which the book is best known, lists 64 different sorts of sexual practises.
Section Three - Concerning Getting Married
Five chapters make up Section 3 of the Kama Sutra, which discuss different types of marriage, how to relax and win the girl's affection, how to survive by yourself if a suitable bride cannot be found, and marriage as a means of unification.
Section Four: A Wife's Story
Section 4 offers advice on the many kinds of spouses a Hindu gentleman could have had. The behaviour of the spouses is covered in two chapters. The part of the Kama Sutra offers guidance to the single wife on proper behaviour. The principal wife and other wives' behaviour in a home with several wives and concubines was also described in this portion of the Kama Sutra.
Section Five: Information Regarding Other People's Wives
Six chapters about the conduct of men and women made up this portion of the Kama Sutra. It included advice on how to woo another man's wife, including encounters for getting to know one another, sentimental analysis, the duties and benefits of go-betweens, the king's pleasures like his harem and ways the bold could get around security measures and enjoy those pleasures themselves, as well as how a Hindu gentleman should conduct himself in the gynoecium or women's apartments.
Sixth Section: Courtesans
The sixth section of the Kama Sutra was divided into six chapters that discussed how to make the most of the assistants' suggestions for choosing lovers, finding a consistent lover, the skill set and methods of earning money for courtesans, how to make amends with a former lover, making sporadic profits, and managing the gains and losses that come with being a courtesan.
On The Ways To Draw Others To Oneself, Section Seven
The Kama Sutra's section seven has two chapters that are mostly concerned with ideas on enhancing one's physical allure and awakening a waning or failing sexual power.
